(More customer reviews)Things I liked about these earplugs: (1) They look cheap. And I don't want to be mugged. (2) Contrary to what other people stated in their reviews, I found the noise cancellation pretty good. I was traveling right beside the plane jets and when I turned the noise cancellation on (without even turning on my ipod), the hiss of the jets would nearly die out. (3) The passive noise reduction is pretty good too. I forgot to buy batteries and was using it without the noise cancellation in the subways and I say it was worth it. (4) the sound quality is decent. But don't expect that any amount of money you expend on earplugs is going to buy you bose-like bass.
Bad things: (1) They go deep into the ear canal. I can't wear them for too long. In the beginning it is not uncomfortable. The rubber in the earplugs is soft enough. But after like three hours I want to take them off.
All in all, I think this is a good option for noise-cancelling earplugs, even without taking price into consideration. But don't expect any earplugs to compare to $500 bose earphones.
